A Star on the Circle

I just recently discovered that a son of one of our neighbors was a contestant on “American Idol,” and did very well indeed! Will Makar, son of Shirlyn and John Makar, at 11924, appeared on the show in 2006, and finished 14th. Pretty amazing when you consider how many thousands and thousands of people audition for that show. (I’m sure most of you long-time residents are already aware of Will’s talent, but we newcomers were clueless…)

Will is currently attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he is majoring in vocal performance and song writing, and he is an active member of an a capella group called “Pitch Slapped.” See below; Will is the soloist.

“Pitch Slapped” will appear on NBC’s show, “Sing Off” on December 6th, but Will won’t be on the show because he had a commitment to his band, and they were touring while the show was being taped. (He’s a busy guy!)
His band is called Will Makar and The Red Line. They have a new record that is available on iTunes, or it can be purchased through their website @ willmakar.com
