Woodlands Alert

Woodlands Alert is a free service that provides you with timely information about criminal activity and emergency situations, among other things. The nice part about the alert is that you get to pick and choose what information you want to receive and how you want to receive it. It’s very easy to sign up for the service. Just go to: http://www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/ and click on Woodlands Alert Signup, which is at the bottom, left-hand corner of the page. You can select any password. It doesn’t have to be your email password, (unlike Facebook!), and create a new account for yourself. I chose just to receive a couple of types of alerts — and all by email. No phone calls, please! In fact, they encourage email alerts only. This seems like an easy way to stay informed. If you haven’t already signed up, you may want to give it a try.
