An Alert from Woodlands Alert

Yesterday, we received our first alert. It was about mailboxes being broken into in The Woodlands.  Here’s the message. I’m going to copy and paste it into this post.

US Postal Mailbox Tampering – Woodlands Watch Message

During the dates of December 13 through December 27, 2010, several of the US Postal Neighborhood Delivery/Collection Box Units in The Woodlands were broken into. Mail and packages were stolen.   The damaged boxes will not be in use until they are repaired or replaced.

The thefts are under investigation by the United States Postal Service. Anyone with information on these crimes is asked to contact United States Postal Inspector Wayne Palomar at 713-238-4499.

If in the future you observe suspicious activity or any signs of forced entry to your mailbox, please contact your local law enforcement immediately.

I was kind of hoping we’d be “alerted” about all the sirens going by on South Millbend. It sounded as though there may have been a really big wreck at the corner of Millbend and Sawmill. After the sirens calmed down, a helicopter circled over that area for at least ten minutes, so whatever happened there was helicopter-worthy. If you happen to know what happened, let me know, and I’ll pass the information along. I’m thinking that just maybe they need a traffic light at South Millbend and Sawmill. What do you think?
