Flower Power

I had to make a run to Lowe’s yesterday afternoon. I sure wish we had a Lowe’s on this side of The Woodlands. They have a few things we use that no one else around here has, but we don’t, so it’s off to the “far side of town.”

I picked up my daughter along the way, and we shopped around for a while before going to Lowe’s garden department. There were quite a few shoppers there, browsing among the pretty extensive selection of fresh greenery. We bought a few things and then stood in the checkout line for quite some time. Did I mention that the place was really busy?

As we waited, we could see workers offloading flowers from a truck out front, but it wasn’t until we walked outside that we got the full impact. The outside was carpeted with the most brilliant and intense colors of flowers, flowers, flowers everywhere, radiating joy in the afternoon sun. So unexpected and absolutely beautiful. We had to stop and just appreciate the moment. We weren’t the only ones. Other people were busy oooooh’ing and aaaaaah’ing too. Flower therapy. We all need it after a gloomy winter.
