Frank Buckles Has Faded Away

Never heard of Frank Buckles? He was a very old soldier, the last surviving U.S. veteran of World War I, and as they say, “old soldiers never die, they just fade away.” Frank Buckles faded yesterday at the age of 110, peacefully, and at home. He had not only survived World War I, but also a stint in a POW camp in the Philippines during World War II. Don’t you know he had some rather amazing stories to tell?

Thank you, Frank Buckles. We salute your longevity and your brave service to our country. RIP, soldier.
