Waiting for the 8.0 Aftershock

Japan has experienced over 500 aftershocks since “the big one” struck, and lately those shocks have been migrating southward, several occurring south of Tokyo. Now, scientists are saying that following a 9.0, typically an 8.x follows, then the 7’s, and so on down.  Japan hasn’t had its 8.x yet.   They’re waiting.
