Galveston Water Main Leak Causes Emergency Declaration

The people in Galveston, Tiki Island, Bayou Vista, Santa Fe, Le Marque, League City, Dickinson, and Hitchcock are under mandatory emergency water rationing this morning, with no watering of lawns or car washing or pool filling permitted with potable water. A break in a major water main has caused the emergency. For more information, here’s a link to an ABC News Report for you. Authorities expect the leak to be repaired in a couple of days and say that if everyone cooperates to limit water usage, drinking water supplies on hand should last until the problem is fixed.
