Just received this tip from a reader here in “fire country,” and I thought I’d pass this along because it’s not something you usually think of as a fire danger.
Also as a preventive… Do not park your car in grass… The heat from a parked car will/can (I have seen it happen) ignite dry grass.
I guess the underside of a car can be really, really hot when you first turn off the engine. Makes sense not to park in tinder-dry grass.
