While you and I were sleeping last night, fire crews continued to monitor the 46-acre wildfire near Stuebner Acres on 2920 in Tomball. Photo courtesy of Tomball News.
A firefighter walks through a charred field near the intersection of FM 2920 and Stuebner Airline Road Saturday in Tomball.
Once again, thanks to the firefighters, no homes or lives were lost from the fire. With winds gusting up to 30 mph yesterday, it’s miraculous that burning embers didn’t blow hot cinders onto the roofs of homes nearby. It is thought that the fire started when a power line was knocked down by a falling tree.
Let’s all be very careful out there today. It’s still hot, dry, and windy. Do you have a lot of pine needles on your roof? Are your gutters full of dead leaves? You might want to get outside and take a look. They’re saying we might get a little bit of rain this week. Let’s all say a prayer that we do. Happy Father’s Day.
