More than 5,000 acres burned yesterday and today in Montgomery County alone. Thanks to the firefighters and a lull in the wind today, that big fire is 95% contained. Still, there were firefighter injuries, lots of property damage, and possible loss of pets in the burned areas. Truly heartbreaking. The fire in Oak Ridge North along Tamina Road appears to be out, but there is fear that it can re-ignite.

As I write this, three new evacuation orders have been issued in Montgomery County. Please evacuate if you’re asked to do so.
