Texas Wildfire Update: Montgomery County Seeking Assistance

Montgomery County United Way is asking for donations and volunteers. Go to http://www.helpourcounty.org to register. Volunteers are needed to check on people, deliver goods, and perform other tasks. You may also donate household goods at that same web site. To donate funds, call 281-292-4155 or 888-825-MCUW, Ext. 235, or mail a check to MCUW, P.O. Box 8965, The Woodlands, TX 77387. Include “Fire 2011” in the memo line of your check.

When I find out how to help people in Bastrop County, I’ll post that information as well. The Bastrop County Complex Fire is the most destructive wildfire in Texas history. No doubt, the people there will need a lot of help. Remember to keep the firefighters and residents in these hard-hit areas in your prayers.
