Texas Wildfires: Fire Breaks Out in Panorama Village

Panorama Village is a lovely community just north of Conroe, (which is just north of Houston). Panorama Village is a sort of “gateway” to Lake Conroe and has some beautiful, rolling hills, lots of trees, and many fine homes. Yesterday afternoon, a woods and grass fire broke out there that evidently involved at least one of the homes. Officials quickly diverted the DC-10 tanker plane from Magnolia to douse the Panorama Village fire, and the Texas Forest Service sent dozers to plow a fire line to help contain it. Please see Jennifer Radcliff’s article on this fire and the numerous other grass fires in and around Houston yesterday.
