Texas Wildfires: Fire in Liberty County-Voluntary Evacuations Requested

Another fire to report in the Houston area. This time it’s in Liberty County, which is just east of Harris County (where Houston is located). If you would like to see a Texas County map, check out Geology.com. If you’re keeping track of the fires, you’ll notice that a lot of them are breaking out in southeast Texas lately.

About 50 acres have burned so far in Liberty County and four homes have been lost. No reports of injuries so far, and there is no word on containment. Along county roads 3471 and 3475, officials are calling for a voluntary evacuation. Please see ABC13.com for just a bit more information. There isn’t much available just yet. The fire just started about two hours ago. Here’s a screen shot showing where Liberty County is in relation to Houston and surrounding areas.
